BEVA Trust to welcome new Chair

The BEVA Trust will see a change of leadership in January 2026, as Julian Samuelson steps down after 12 years as Chair. Sara Barker will formally take up the role on 5 January.

Since its reshaping in 2014, the BEVA Trust has enabled more than 600 veterinary volunteers to contribute to equine welfare projects both in the UK and overseas. Under Julian’s leadership, 57 UK clinics have helped thousands of horses, while 87 volunteers have supported 43 international projects.

Julian said: “After many incredible years serving as Chairman of BEVA Trust, I have made the difficult decision to step down… It has been a true privilege to lead such a committed team, and my sincerest gratitude goes to the countless dedicated volunteers who brought our vision to life.”

Sara added: “It is a great honour to take up the position of Chairman of the BEVA Trust… I very much look forward to continuing the Trust’s excellent work in the years ahead.”

BEVA Trust is led by a committee of volunteers who are responsible for overseeing, managing and developing the activities and projects the Trust undertakes. The Trust is showcasing its work in the UK and around the globe at BEVA Congress this year.
