British Equestrian extends ‘Good employment’ advice

British Equestrian has launched a new ‘Good employment’ website hub aimed at providing vital advice and support for the equestrian workforce. This resource is designed to guide employers, employees, apprentices, and self-employed professionals within the equestrian sector, ensuring they understand their rights and responsibilities in the workplace.

The hub was developed in response to findings from last year’s Health of Riding Establishments research, which highlighted workforce shortages as a key issue affecting equestrian centre capacities. By promoting good employment practices, British Equestrian aims to foster a positive work culture that enhances staff wellbeing, encourages new entrants, and retains existing employees.

Lynne Bailey, Head of Governance and Integrity, emphasised the importance of fair treatment within the sector, noting that the hub aims to support the passionate individuals who make up the equestrian workforce. The initiative also includes a series of quick-read articles in collaboration with leading bodies like The Equestrian Employers Association. The first article, focusing on creating a good workplace culture, is now live.
