British Equestrian relaunches ‘Find a Centre’ tool to help more people access local riding centres

British Equestrian has relaunched its ‘Find a Centre’ online tool, designed to assist individuals in finding approved local riding centres. Whether starting an equestrian journey or returning to the saddle, this tool helps users locate centres that meet high standards of animal welfare and are approved by various British Equestrian member bodies, such as The British Horse Society and The Pony Club.

As part of the Horses for All strategy, the updated tool not only lists legally approved centres but also provides information on accessibility, available facilities, and the types of activities offered, such as equine therapy or facilitated learning. This relaunch follows a comprehensive audit of UK riding centres, ensuring the tool is accurate and up-to-date.

Samantha Holgate-Davey, Strategic Lead for Projects and Programmes at British Equestrian, highlighted the benefits of equestrian activities, noting how they contribute to physical and mental wellbeing. She stated that the ‘Find a Centre’ tool is crucial in supporting more people to access the benefits of the equestrian community.

Abigail Bevan, Insight and Research Manager at British Equestrian, expressed excitement about bringing the tool back to its full capacity, allowing everyone to access data on riding centres across the country in one place.

British Equestrian encourages everyone to explore the Find a Centre tool to discover the joy of equestrian activities. Whether an experienced rider or a newcomer, the tool will help users find the perfect riding centre nearby.

Call for riding centres

Riding centres that were unable to participate in the initial audit are invited to complete an online form to be included in the ‘Find a Centre’ database. Both affiliated and unaffiliated centres are encouraged to participate to ensure the sector’s capacity is protected and developed.
