Free webinar tackles autumn worm control
Horse owners are being invited to a free live webinar on Thursday 16 October at 7pm, designed to help improve parasite control strategies ahead of winter.
The 45-minute session — Horse First: Autumn Worm Control — is presented by Westgate Labs and Austin Davis Biologics, and hosted by horse trainer and content creator Miri Hackett. Speakers will be:
- Professor Jacqui Matthews, BVMS PhD FRSE FRCVS, Recognised Specialist in Parasitology and Director of Veterinary Science at Austin Davis Biologics
- Claire Shand, Director and SQP at Westgate Labs
Topics covered:
- Why risk assessment matters and which factors influence it
- How seasonal changes, including this year’s dry summer, affect parasite burdens
- Real-life case studies from Miri’s yard
- Best-practice testing and treatment strategies
- Interactive Q&A and polls
Miri Hackett commented: “Running a busy yard, I know first-hand how confusing parasite control can feel. It’s not always easy to run a test-based programme that takes in the needs of different horses and adapts to weather and environmental changes… This webinar is all about breaking it down, sharing real examples and giving owners clear, practical steps they can use straight away.”
Horse owners attending live will also be entered into a giveaway for worm egg count and EquiSal test kits worth £130.
