Leading equestrian entrepreneur recognised in annual Awards

Equestrian entrepreneur David Mitson, whose company owns some of the UK’s most recognisable equestrian brands, has been named a finalist for Business Person of the Year 2026 in the Northamptonshire Business Awards.

The Chamber of Commerce-supported Awards recognise business leaders who have demonstrated sustainable growth and entrepreneurial skill, alongside ambition, influence, vision and leadership. Winners will be announced at a black-tie ceremony in September.

David has played a role in the growth of equestrian nutrition brand Science Supplements and rider safety brand evoke in international markets. Evoke was recently named a national winner in the Small Business Growth Awards 2026.

“It’s a great honour to be recognised alongside so many great entrepreneurs, and it is a moment of immense personal pride. However, one person does not make a legacy. Without the support of many people over many years, this would not be possible. From my family having to put up with the long hours and time away from home, to my staff who believe in our ethos and work hard to achieve great things. Every business needs great leaders, and great leaders need great people around them.” said David.

The Business Person of the Year category celebrates individuals whose leadership has made an impact on business.
