Leading experts to headline BEVA Congress 2026

Two internationally respected veterinary professionals will deliver the prestigious plenary lectures at British Equine Veterinary Association Congress 2026, which takes place at the ICC Birmingham from 9-12 September.

The Congress theme, “doing the right thing”, will be explored by Meta Osborne and Tim Mair, who will examine how veterinary professionals can improve outcomes for horses and the people who care for them.

Meta Osborne will present the John Hickman Plenary Lecture on September 10. Her session, Threads, Patterns and Boundaries: Understanding Veterinary Influence on Equine Welfare, will explore how vets can influence horse welfare, including the tendency to treat the consequences of welfare compromise rather than its causes.

Tim Mair will deliver the fifth Peter Rossdale Memorial Lecture on September 11. In Beyond Gut Feelings: Building Better Care and Promoting Equine Welfare from Practice-Based Data, he will discuss how clinical research, data collection and evidence-based practice can improve equine health and welfare.

The lectures form part of more than 90 hours of CPD available during Congress, alongside networking opportunities, social events and an extensive trade exhibition.
