Precautionary recall of two Fast Fibre batches

On February 3rd 2026, Allen & Page issued a precautionary recall of two specific batches of its Fast Fibre product after identifying an ingredient specification issue.

The recall applied only to:

  • Fast Fibre batch number 14/01/26 with a best before date of 04/05/26
  • Fast Fibre batch number 15/01/26 with a best before date of 05/05/26

No other batches of Fast Fibre, or any other Allen & Page products, were affected.

Allen & Page identified that linseed levels in some sacks from these batches were higher than the normal specification. While not every bag within the batches was affected, the decision was taken to recall the entirety of the two identified batches as a precautionary measure.

Having acted promptly to prevent further consumption of the affected batches as a precautionary measure for horse and pony health, Allen & Page further confirmed that the recalled batches were not toxic, were not contaminated, and did not present a clean sport or NOPS issue. The combined starch and sugar content remained below 10% in all cases, including the recalled batches.

Customers were advised not to feed Fast Fibre from the affected batches and to dispose of the product. A full refund was made available through stockists. Allen & Page confirmed that many horses had already consumed feed from these batches without adverse effects, and there was no evidence of harm associated with the issue.

The company communicated the recall to stockists and customers at the earliest opportunity and subsequently published detailed FAQs to provide clear, consistent information and address common questions, including guidance for customers who no longer had the original packaging.
