Society of Master Saddlers launches Walsall Expo for 60th anniversary
The Society of Master Saddlers is inviting trade exhibitors to take part in a new two-day event celebrating British saddlery, industry connections and the Society’s 60th anniversary.
The Society of Master Saddlers will mark its 60th anniversary this October with the launch of the Walsall Expo, a new event for the equestrian and saddlery trade.
Taking place at Walsall Town Hall on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October, from 10am to 4pm, the Expo will give manufacturers, suppliers and other trade exhibitors the opportunity to showcase their products and craftsmanship.
Located in the traditional heart of the UK saddlery industry, the event will bring together members of the public, industry stakeholders, manufacturers, suppliers and professionals from across the sector. Admission will be free.
It is the first event of its kind to be organised by the Society and will offer opportunities to build business relationships, discuss how different trades can support one another and introduce the next generation to saddlery and leather craft.
Visitors will also be able to learn about training routes into the industry and the Society’s welfare initiatives through its free-to-join Fit4Welfare Club.
A Trade Members’ Social will take place from 4pm on Friday 23 October, giving Society members and traders an opportunity to celebrate the anniversary with colleagues and friends from across the industry. The social is open to all traders and Society members, whether they are exhibiting or not.
Society CEO Jo Byrne said: “The Expo is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the strength of the Walsall saddlery trade to the public, industry stakeholders and the next generation, while connecting with fellow manufacturers, suppliers and professionals from across the sector. Don’t forget to join us, whether you take a stand or not, for our Trade Members’ Social on Friday 23 October, from 4.00pm, where we’ll also celebrate the Society’s 60th anniversary with friends and colleagues from across the industry.”
She added: “If you haven’t yet reserved your exhibition space, please contact the Society Office, we’d love you to be part of this important event. Thank you for your continued support of the Society and British saddlery. We look forward to celebrating this special anniversary with you and sharing the stories that have shaped our first 60 years.”
