Trailblazing group lead the way in securing a sustainable future for equestrianism

Leading organisations have collaborated to create the ultimate free digital resource to support all equestrians navigating the challenges and opportunities of environmental sustainability.

Launching this autumn, thehoofprint.com will provide all equestrian organisations, venues and individuals with the information, training and inspiration they need to transform their businesses, yards and events into resilient and sustainable hives of activity.

Covering topics ranging from rainwater harvesting and paddock care to renewable energy, muck management and tack repair, the platform is intended to support every part of the industry.

Ruth Dancer of White Griffin, who created the website, said: “In order to have a healthy sport, we need everyone to be able to survive and thrive in the changes that lie ahead. This collaboration is a recognition that together we can support one another in quickly adapting to both protect our industry and the natural world.”

The working group driving the website forward includes Agria, NAF, British Equestrian, British Showjumping, British Dressage, British Eventing, The Pony Club, World Horse Welfare, RDA and ABRS+

British Equestrian CEO Jim Eyre commented: “It’s a core part of our federation-wide strategy to provide our members and the wider industry with the tools, knowledge and support needed to become resilient and sustainable. We want every individual to feel confident and inspired to make the changes necessary, and we are all proud to be part of such an exciting and important project.”

Ahead of the autumn 2026 launch, the White Griffin team want to hear from individuals, yard owners and businesses who are already taking steps to embed sustainability into their spaces and will be travelling the country to capture the brilliant examples of practical sustainability initiatives that already exist. As part of the project, the team are also hoping to track the changes that are taking place in the industry, as well as understand the information that equestrians really want from the website. A simple survey has been created and can be completed at https://form.jotform.com/261252265604048.
